During March’s meeting, Dawn Nuoffer highlighted Think Ability Wisconsin, a new initiative to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities and improve hiring and retention for Wisconsin employers. We also heard from Emma Rathmann, a young person with autism, and her father Peter Rathmann, an employer who champions employing people with disabilities. Emma and Peter shared their firsthand experience connecting Emma to meaningful work. A key takeaway is that Think Ability Wisconsin offers resources to self-advocates, families, employers, service providers, and educators to improve employment outcomes for Wisconsinites with disabilities.
